2012 I'm ready for you

Now that it's a New Year I've been thinking about what I'd like to have more and less of in my life.
  1. I want to spend more quality time with my children.  I say this every year, but I just never feel li ke I'm giving my children enough of my time.  We are such a busy family, with kids running to all sorts of activities.  Recently I've started using the car time to turn off the radio and chat with whichever child is with me.  I've really been enjoying the time just talking with them (alone with out their siblings).  I plan to restart our family game nights.  Over winter break we've played lots of family games and it has been so much fun.  We need to be doing that more often.
  2. I want to become more organized.  Now that I'm working again, I feel like things are a little chaotic.  I'd like to set some cleaning, dinner, running kids, etc plans in place.  If I can get us more organized I can also spend more time with my kids.
  3. I want to be healthier.  I still have a few (15) pounds left to lose.  It's time to hit the gym and get off the junk food.  I also will finally be seeing the neurologist about my migraines, so hopefully we can get that under control.  (and again this will help me with #1)  And maybe I'll even be able to finally quit smoking.
  4. I want more time for me.  This is my selfish want.  With out some more me time, I won't be at my best for family time.  I need to spend more time with friends.  And more time just my husband and I.  And you my oh so patient and always waiting blog, yes I want to give you more of my time too.
I'm oh so amused that all my goals, for 2012, end right at my first want; being there for my children.  I must really be a mom.

  1. Too bad there are only 24 hours in the day! Maybe we can skip lunch break? :-)

  2. I know what you mean. Too often I already skip my lunch break to run some errand, so I can come right home after work to be with the kids .
